Norwich eyeing Yobo deal

Norwich City are in talks with former Everton defender Joseph Yobo, according to Sky Sports.

The Nigeria international has made just one league appearance for Fenerbache this season, having moved to Turkey on a permanent basis in August 2012, following two successful loan spells with the club.

He made 220 Premier League appearances for the Toffees, while internationally he captained his country to glory in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

Manager Chris Hughton is keen on bringing in another centre-back, with moves for Newcastle United’s Steven Taylor, Blackburn Rovers’ Scott Dann and Michael Ciani of Lazio.

The Canaries currently sit in twelfth place in the Premier League, but are just five points off the bottom three having won just one of their last eight matches.

With their next three games against two of the bottom three and leaders Manchester City, they are available at a price of 10/3 to be relegated.
