´Not worthy of Bayern´ – Rummenigge slams Frankfurt draw

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt was a performance “not worthy” of Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga champions twice led through Arjen Robben and Joshua Kimmich, but they were pegged back and Marco Fabian secured a share of the spoils 12 minutes from time for hosts that had been reduced to 10 men after first goalscorer Szabolcs Huszti was shown a second yellow card.

Bayern were also held by Cologne before the international break and their latest slip-up saw them fail to take advantage of Friday’s 1-1 draw between fellow high-flyers Hertha Berlin and Borussia Dortmund.

With Bayern yet to click into top gear under Carlo Ancelotti, CEO Rummenigge agreed with the Italian’s captain Philipp Lahm that Saturday’s draw was a result of poor mentality.

“That was not worthy of FC Bayern,” Rummenigge said. “We do not experience something like that so often.

“Today we must be satisfied with a point, like we started the game with.

“But we must go with another attitude to the pitch.”

Bayern now have three successive home games to get back on track, starting with Wednesday’s Champions League visit of PSV.
