N’Zonzi set for Roma medical

According to Sky Italia, Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi has arrived in Italy as he prepares for a medical with AS Roma. The Italian club have seemingly come out of nowhere to lead the race for his signature, with the report suggesting that he has agreed to a four-year deal which will be worth around €3.5 million per season.

N’Zonzi, who formerly played for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, has been linked with a move away from Sevilla throughout the course of the summer. Initially, it seemed as if Arsenal would swoop in to sign him, but following the conclusion of the English window, it was clear that he’d be heading elsewhere.

Roma are ensuring that there are no hiccups by getting this deal done a few days prior to the Italian window closing at 7pm on Friday (UK time). Roma will be hoping N’Zonzi can slot straight into the first team as they prepare to kickstart their Serie A season.
