French sportspaper L’Equipe announces that champions Olympique Lyon have sacked manager Alain Perrin after just one season at the club.

Winning both the Coupe de France and the Ligue 1 is reportedly not good enough for Lyon’s board.

Perrin, who succeeded Gérard Houllier at the start of the season, is said to have a rather difficult relationship with his players.

L’Equipe goes on to say that Claude Puel, currently under contract at OSC Lille and formerly at AS Monaco, is the main candidate to replace Perrin.
