One in one out at Forest

Watford have competed the signing of midfielder Lewis McGugan following his release from Nottingham Forest.

The 24 year old has penned a three year contract with the option of a further year, and becomes Gianfranco Zola’s second new signing of the summer following the arrival of Javi Acuna on loan from Udinese.

McGugan made 204 league appearances for Forest in seven years, scoring forty goals with his best run coming towards the end of last season, when he netted in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile the Reds have completed a deal for winger Jamie Paterson from Walsall, according to Sky Sports.

The 21 year old was an ever present for Dean Smith’s side last season, scoring twelve goals as the Saddlers narrowly missed out on a play-off place.

He becomes Forest’s fourth signing of the close season, after the club resigned Gonzalo Jara Reyes and Darius Henderson following their respective loan spells last season, while USA international defender Eric Lichaj has joined on a free transfer.
