According to the News of the World, both Everton and Liverpool are keen to sign Michael Owen in the January transfer window.

Twenty-Eight year old Owen showed yesterday that he still has something to offer, scoring an excellent goal in Newcastle’s 3-0 defeat at West Ham.

It is likely that Owen could go for as little as £4 million in January as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Fabio Capello was in the crowd at West Ham yesterday and must have been impressed with Owen’s goal. Whether he saw enough in the rest of the game to recall England’s top scorer remains to be seen.
