Ozil to sign new Arsenal contract after Aubameyang signing

So much has been made over the past six months of the dynamic duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil leaving Arsenal, but when it has come down to it only the former has left, and the latter actually looks set to stay.

Ozil will reportedly sign a new contract following the announcement that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a Gunner, according to German publication Bild, finally putting to rest all of the rumours.

Aubameyang should be announced today as a stunning deadline day swoop, and that has been enough to convince Ozil to stick around in the hopes that trophies might follow.

The German international is in his fifth season with Arsenal, and has established himself as a crucial player in the heart of Arsene Wenger’s midfield, pulling the strings for the front men ahead of him.

With four goals and seven assists so far this Premier League season there is little doubt of Ozil’s talent, and keeping him at the club, while adding Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang is on sure fire way to minimise the impact of losing Sanchez.
