Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway is on the verge of signing Carlton Cole and Dan Gosling, the Mail Online understands.
Cole has been without a club since being released by West Ham United last month, and has reopened talks with the Eagles having failed to agree terms with Turkish sides Kasimpasa and Karabukspor.
The England international spent seven years at Upton Park having signed from Chelsea, while he has also enjoyed loan spells at Wolverhampton Wanders, Charlton Athletic and Aston Villa.
Ian Holloway has been linked with a move for Gosling all summer, and is keen to end his injury-hit spell in the North East.
The 23 year old has started just one league game in three seasons with the Magpies, though he has spent the majority of that time on the side-lines.
Holloway handed Gosling his professional debut at Plymouth Argyle as a sixteen year old, and his agent announced that he was having a medical with the club on Monday.
