Palace in for Austin

Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign Queens Park Rangers forward Charile Austin, according to the Guardian.

The 26 year old, who last month received his first senior England call up, has been strongly linked with a move away from Loftus Park this summer with a whole host of Premier League clubs vying for his services.

Newcastle United, West Ham United and Bournemouth have all thrown their hats in to the ring, and now the Eagles have made their interest known, they will look to submit a players-plus-cash bid.

Frazier Campbell, Adrian Mariappa, Barry Bannan and Adlene Guardiora are among the names that could be used as a makeweight in any deal that may see Austin move to Selhurst Park with all set to be on the fringes of Alan Pardew’s side next season.

Palace have already secured a club record transfer for France international midfielder Yohan Cabaye, who has signed from Paris Saint Germain for an initial fee of £10m.
