PAOK Saloniki are on course to finish second in the Greek league following a 1-2 win at AO Xanthi this Sunday, while Panathinaikos only managed a goalless draw at Panserraikos FC.

Vladimir Ivic put PAOK in the lead after 22 minutes at Xanthi, but the home side equalised through Victor Agali in the 61st. The match appeared to be heading for a draw but the guests were handed a penalty near full time. Ivic made no mistake from the spot, 1-2.

Panathinaikos needed a win at Panserraikos to remain in second place based on goal record but the Athens outfit failed to score the goal that would have made the difference.

With just one match to go, PAOK are two points ahead of Panathinaikos. On April 26th, PAOK host Panserraikos while Panathinaikos receive OFI Crete.

Champions Olympiakos lacked inspiration and suffered a rather insignificant 0-1 defeat by AE Larisa. The only goal was scored by Maciej Zurawski in the 54th minute. Thanks to this win, Larisa remain in fifth place which gives access to the Champions League play-offs.
