Pastore hints at Juventus move; European giants to battle for Pirlo

Pastore hints at Juventus move

Palermo star Javier Pastore reveals that he would rather join Juventus than Barcelona, despite earlier saying that his dream was to play for Barca.

Speaking to journalists while in Argentina camp, Pastore was asked whether he would rather sign for Juventus or Barcelona.

“My priority is always to play and so I would say the first of the two options,” Pastore said.

“I’d be on the bench a lot at teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid, and this doesn’t suit me. We’ll maybe talk about it again when I am 28.

“Like I have already said, I count on staying here for a couple of other season.
I believe that if the squad remains young and talented, we can aspire for important objectives.

“Let me explain myself with an example: at San Siro against Inter our season was on the point of taking off. Instead we let Inter come back out of naivety and assorted errors.

“With the experience of this year, I believe that we will not make the same mistakes anymore.”

As it now seems, Pastore will be the subject of a real bidding war next summer, with his latest statements giving advantage to clubs who can guarantee him a starting place.

European giants to battle for Andrea Pirlo

Milan seem prepared to risk losing Andrea Pirlo on free contract after the Rossoneri decided to shelve talks regarding a new contract.

The Italy international’s current deal expires at the end of the season and he looks very likely to leave the club next summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter, Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all keen on the midfield maestro.

Adriano Galliani has reportedly decided to delay talks regarding new contracts until April even though Pirlo’s agent Tullio Tinti requested for the negotiations to start.

Pirlo currently earns around €5 million per season and Milan will try to persuade the player into taking a pay-cut, which could only push him further towards the summer exit.

With so many clubs interested in his services, Pirlo should have no problems finding a new club.

Mark van Bommel drops Spurs hint

Dutch midfielder Mark van Bommel admits he could join Spurs next summer despite recently joining Milan on loan.

Van Bommel joined Milan on loan from Bayern in January despite interest from Harry Redknapp, but the Dutch international reveals he has not yet closed the door to a move to White Hart Lane.
“We had some contact with Spurs but unfortunately it didn’t work out in the end.”

“It’s one of my favourite clubs in England, I really love the stadium and I know the training ground because I’ve been there with the Dutch national team.

”Rafael (van der Vaart) has told me a lot of good stories. I’d love to play for Spurs. I’ve told Rafael that as well.

“I don’t know how things will go and that’s all I’d like to say at the moment. I’m pleased with what Harry Redknapp’s said about me – that’s always positive.

”It’s not good to look back. You’ve got to look to the future. I’m happy at Milan, but you never know what will happen.”

Mark van Bommel can be considered as an emergency signing for Milan and as such, there is a good chance that the Rossoneri will not be interested in making the deal permanent, meaning Spurs can make another assault on the player next summer.
