AC Milan forward Alexandre Pato says he has no intention of leaving European football in the near future.
Pato, 22, has been linked with clubs such as Corinthians and Internacional, but the player insists a return to his native Brazil is not an option for him just yet.
“I just want to make the most of my European career at this point,” he was quoted as saying by Terra.
“Some Brazilian players remain in Europe for about 10 to 12 years. I would be 27 if I return after 10 years here. Who knows whether I will return to Brazil then.
“You never know what will happen in the future. I can only thank the clubs that have approached (agent Gilmar) Veloz. I just have to do my thing on the pitch.”
Pato is contracted to Milan until June 2014, but the club could opt to cash in on the forward if a big-money offer comes in during the off-season.
Paris Saint-Germain attempted to sign the Brazil international in January, and the Ligue 1 side are still believed to be keen on a deal.
