Pazzini set to join Inter; Milan to sign new left-back

Pazzini set to join Inter

Inter are set to complete the signing of Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The reports from Italy suggest the two teams have agreed on the transfer fee with Pazzini expected to sign later today.

Inter will reportedly pay €13 million in addition to sending Jonathan Biabiany and youngster Luca Caldirola to Marassi.

The Italy international will sign a deal until 2015 at Giuseppe Meazza, which will see him earn around €2.5 million per season.

Inter have been actively looking for a striker to add to their attacking department after Diego Milito’s season was plagued with injuries and they seem to have done a great piece of business.

The prolific striker that he is Giampaolo Pazzini will take some weight of Milito’s shoulders, giving boss Leonardo a lot more options up front.

Milan to sign new left-back

Milan have agreed to sign Espanyol left-back Didac Vila, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The 21-year-old is expected to put pen to paper later today and he will thus become Milan’s third signing of the transfer window after Urby Emanuelson and Mark van Bommel.

The Rossoneri have been looking for a left back who can help them in this year’s Champions League campaign and they seem to have found their man.

Adriano Galliani, Mino Raiola and club’s lawyer traveled to Catalunya yesterday and after the three-hour meeting with Espanyol representatives they agreed to pay €4 million for the 21-year-old defender.

The Spaniard will travel to Italy today, where he will sign a five-year contract with the Rossoneri.

With Urby Emanuelson ineligible for this year’s Champions League having played for Ajax, Milan succeeded in their quest to provide cover for the left-back position, even if Didac Vila clearly wasn’t everyone’s first choice.

Sevilla sign midfield duo

Sevilla have announced the signing of Gary Medel from Boca Juniors and Ivan Rakitic from Schalke.

Chile international Gary Medel has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal after passing a medical, with Sevilla paying €3 million for his services.

“I am happy to be here, hopefully it all goes well,” Medel said.

“I am a player who works hard on the pitch and gives his heart, I hope my performances can help bring a new title to Sevilla.”

Los Rojiblancos have also completed the signing of Ivan Rakitic from Schalke for a fee of €1.5 million.

The Croat, whose contract with Schalke was due to expire next summer, also signed a deal until June 2015.

Sevilla have done a great deal in the closing stages of the January transfer window, having signed two excellent players for the total sum of €4.5 million, especially considering they are still in their early twenties.
