According to Portugal media outlet Ojogo, highly-rated 18-year-old Sampdoria centre-back could return to his former club Benfica during the summer transfer window.
Talented teenager joined the Italian side in 2015 and has made only nine appearances for the Serie A side since his arrival. He nevertheless showed great promise in early stages of the 2015-16 season and alarmed his former club, who are now keen to bring Pereira back to Estadio da Luz.
Benfica have on Friday sent several club officials alongside club president Luis Filipe Vieira to Genoa to negotiate a summer transfer of the talented teenage defender and it appears that a deal will be reached over the weekend.
Sampdoria and Benfica are reportedly nearing an agreement based on a €5 million transfer fee for a player who was brought for less than €200,000.
Pedro Pereira is contracted to Sampdoria until 2018, but has already given the nod to his former club over summer return to Benfica.
