Barcelona forward Pedro has agreed a new deal at Barcelona, which will keep him under contract at Camp Nou until 2019.

The Spain international’s contract was set to expire at the end of next season and he had been linked with a move away.

An inability to feature regularly for Luis Enrique this term, due to the form of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi, also sparked rumours he could seek a switch from the Liga champions.

However, the 27-year-old has agreed a deal, which will be signed in the coming days, with his buyout clause staying at €150 million.

Pedro had initially stated he was to “evaluate” his options at a club that is subject to a transfer ban due to their dealings with youth players.

The sanction does not expire until 2016, with Barca unwilling to deplete their squad further.

Luis Enrique’s side face Juventus in the UEFA Champions League final in Berlin on Saturday.
