Manuel Pellegrini says every team in the Champions League round of 16 can cause his Malaga team plenty of trouble.

Spanish club Malaga finished top of Group C in what is their first Champions League appearance, besting AC Milan and Zenit St Petersburg to do so.

Despite their impressive debut, Pellegrino wants to avoid any sign of complacency from his players ahead of the first knockout round.

“I do not care (who our opponents in the next stage are going to be),” he told reporters at a press conference.

“Whoever we get, we will be up against one of the top 16 in Europe. The important thing is when February comes we play with the same conviction that saw us do well and progress.

“We are pleased that we qualified early and we were able to give some game time in the last two games to players that may not always play.

“In every game we win convinced from the start. We managed three wins and three draws against very difficult teams and that was down to our mentality.”

Malaga are fifth in La Liga after 14 matches of the campaign, three points of the Champions League qualification places.
