Valencia manager Mauricio Pellegrino says his side are focused on getting their first win of the season against Deportivo La Coruna.

Pellegrino’s side are looking to bounce back after suffering a 1-0 opening defeat to Real Madrid in La Liga when they clash with Deportivo on Sunday.

“Our goal is always the same. Now we are thinking about winning tomorrow and I hope the team achieve the best position possible in the league,” he said.

“This is my goal and will be at the end of the season.”

The manager is also hoping to keep midfielder Pablo Hernandez at the Mestalla, although he conceded he is uncertain whether he will stay with Swansea expressing a firm interest in the player.

“I understand his situation. It is not simple because it is a little uncertain whether he is staying or going,” he said.

“I’ve already told the player my point of view. He’s an important player who I wish to keep on the team.”
