Bristol City put in a courageous performance in a 2-1 League Cup defeat at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was full of praise of the Championship side following the game and went on to publicly praise his opposing number Lee Johnson on the touchline after the final whistle.

The Championship high-flyers’ boss revealed Guardiola told him Bristol played better than most of the Premier league teams that come to Man City.
