Pereira yet to open talks with Man Utd over new deal; Schurrle wants Chelsea stay

Manchester United starlet Andreas Pereira is remaining calm despite not receiving any contract from the club regarding a new deal.

Manchester United starlet Andreas Pereira is remaining calm despite not yet receiving any contact from the club regarding a new deal.

The Brazil Under-20 international made his senior debut in United’s embarrassing 4-0 defeat to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup, and is expected to make a few more first-team appearances this term.

United boss Louis van Gaal told has Pereira, whose current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, to stay calm amid concerns over the player’s long-term future at Old Trafford.

“They haven’t contacted me yet, but Van Gaal told me to stay calm,” Pereira said.

“He wants to give me a chance because I have plenty of talent. When he arrived at the club, I talked with him. He always does so.

“It’s not true that [he does not like Brazilian players], he always treated me in a normal way.”

Pereira went on to praise the leadership qualities of United’s senior players, including the likes Angel di Maria, Robin van Persie, and Wayne Rooney.

“They are very humble, normal people,” added Pereira. “They talk with me, give me advice, they help a lot.

“They tell me what is better to do and not do. Anderson talks with me a lot and Darren Fletcher also helps.”

Schurrle wants Chelsea stay

Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle has insisted he is committed to Chelsea despite speculation linking him with Spanish champions Atletico Madrid.

The Germany international, 23, was linked with Atletico during the summer transfer window after a number of impressive World Cup appearances, but Atleti instead opted to bring in the likes of Alessio Cerci, Antoine Griezmann, and Raul Jimenez.

Schurrle has scored two goals in five English Premier League appearances, including three starts, for Chelsea this season, and is rightly delighted by his start to the 2014/15 campaign.

“Mourinho has given me this feeling that I would be a big part of the team. He plans with me and he wants me in this team and he wants to play me,” Schurrle told the Daily Mirror.

“That’s why I want to stay at this club. Everything here is good for me. I have the pressure to perform, I have the pressure to do well in training.

“I have the great fans that all support me here and so there was no question for me that I would leave this club in the summer.”

Schurrle added: “I just want to take the chances I get, improve my game, improve myself and we’ll see what happens.”
