Looking to carry on their immaculate run of form, Peru will travel to the Friends Arena on Saturday to face off against Sweden.

For Janne Andersson’s Sweden side, despite only losing one match in their qualifying campaign the Yellows were forced to go through the playoff’s and arguably pulled off the biggest result in the nations history. Coming past 2006 World Cup champions Italy over two-legs, Andersson’s side will now travel to Russia in a group with Germany, Mexico and South Korea. Although the hosts on Saturday will be hoping to secure that lucrative second spot, Sweden have not enjoyed a successful build up. Coming off the back of a 0-0 draw with Denmark, they are yet to win any of their three friendly matches and with no Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading their side, the hosts have failed to find the net in their last two.

As for Ricardo Gareca, after coming through New Zealand 2-0 in their World Cup qualifier, Peru could not have enjoyed better preparation and are coming off the back of their 3-0 win away at fellow finalist Saudi Arabia. Putting on another eye-catching performance, The Reds have now won their last five games on the bounce and more impressive, Peru have only conceded one goal in those five consecutive victories. One man to watch is captain and forward Paolo Guerrero, now cleared to play at the World Cup, the 34-year-old is their all-time leading goalscorer and scored a brace in his last outing.
