Bayern Munich striker Nils Petersen believes Pep Guardiola’s arrival at the club could signal the end of his time there.

The striker, who is on loan at Werder Bremen, has scored nine goals in the Bundesliga this season but still feels he will have to move away from Munich in the off-season.

Petersen is behind Mario Mandzukic, Mario Gomez and Claudio Pizarro at Allianz Arena and told Bild of his happiness at playing regular first-team football.

“For Pep Guardiola, Petersen is certainly not the most important of personnel,” he said.

“But we are in contact with Matthias Sammer. When the three current strikers remain, for me it does not make sense in Munich.

“Here I feel good and I know what I have. I feel that I am important here.”

The 24-year-old signed for Bayern in 2011 from Energie Cottbus for 2.8 million euros.
