Fenerbahce have continued their winter recruitment by signing Istanbul BB striker Pierre Achille Webo.

The Turkish giants announced the deal on their official website late last night, stating that the striker had signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club.

L’Equipe has suggested that Fener paid around €3 million for the former Mallorca star.

Webo, 31, is club’s third major signing of the January transfer window, after Emre Belezoglu and Reto Ziegler joined from Atletico Madrid and Juventus respectively.

Fenerbahce currently sit five points behind arch rivals Galatasaray in the Super Lig standings and they had no choice but to reinforce the squad after their rivals had signed the likes of Wesley Sneijder and Didier Drogba.

Pierre Webo has been signed to provide competition for striker Moussa Sow, after Henri Bienvenu was loaned to Real Zaragoza.

Webo has done really well since joining Istanbul BB from Mallorca, scoring 24 goals in 54 Super Lig matches.
