Barcelona defender Gerard Pique feels he was treated unfairly last season and is determined to prove his critics wrong.
The Spain international received his fair share of criticism last term for his disappointing performances.
But he is pleased with his displays in the La Liga opener against Real Sociedad and the Spanish Super Cup first-leg win over Real Madrid.
“I had to take a lot of rubbish last season,” the centre-back told Sport.
“Therefore, I am pleased with the way I have started the new season. I think I have been playing well so far.”
Pique also looked back at Barca’s 3-2 win over Real Madrid on Thursday and said he was proud of his team’s performance.
“We have a very positive feeling about the game and we are proud of how we played and what we have done,” he said.
The second leg takes place at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
