Striker Pavel Pogrebnyak has moved to deny rumours that a falling out with the Stuttgart hierarchy prompted his move to Fulham.
Russia international Pogrebnyak was a late mover to the English Premier League on Tuesday’s transfer deadline day.
He reportedly left the Bundesliga in acrimonious circumstances, amid claims his relationship with the Stuttgart management had become untenable.
However, speaking on his former club’s official website, the 28-year-old took time to refute the claims.
“Some sensationalist quotes, which are now flitted by the media, are simply not true,” he said.
“This is not my style. I was very happy in Stuttgart.”
“I have a feeling the fans always appreciated my commitment. I also feel that it is very important for me to say goodbye to them and thank them.”
Pogrebnyak moved to Fulham for 3.6 million euros, signing a six-month contract.
