FC Porto and Pacos de Ferreira shook off their semi final opponents to advance to the final of the Portuguese Cup.

Porto were likely to advance to the ‘Taca de Portugal’ final following a 2-0 win in the first leg and although the current league leaders lost 2-1 in the return leg at Estrela Amadora, it was still good enough to secure a final berth.

Ernesto Farias put Porto ahead on just four minutes but Rui Varela and Anselmo turned things around later in the first half. Amadora needed another two goals to advance though and lacked the strength to achieve that miracle.

Nacional and Pacos had held each other to a 2-2 draw in the first leg but Pacos were the stronger side in Funchal this Wednesday. Goals from Pedrinha (penalty) and Rui Miguel gave the away side a comfortable lead early on but Luis Alberto and Mateus levelled things just before and after the break.

Both sides were mentally prepared for extra time when Pacos were handed a penalty and Pedrinha was again successful from the spot, 2-3.
