Portuguese giants FC Porto appear set to win the chase for Sporting Braga midfielder Rafa Silva, according to Diario de Noticias.

The attacking midfielder has been on the radar of quite a few top European clubs, but the Dragons were the most concrete and they are now set to wrap up the deal for his services.

Diario de Noticias understands that the transfer will be worth €20 million and it will be the highest fee paid by one Portuguese club to another.

Despite interest from Everton and Southampton, Rafa Silva will be moving to Estadio do Dragao after FC Porto finally decided to match Braga’s asking price.

Rafa Silva is widely regarded as one of Portugal’s hottest prospects and he was a part of the Selecao team that lifted the Euro 2016 trophy in Paris, albeit making just one brief appearance at the tournament finals.

The 23-year-old has been one of Primeira Liga’s star performers during the past two years and he is now expected to continue his development at FC Porto.
