Porto close on Joao Moutinho
Portuguese giants FC Porto are set to wrap up a deal for Monaco star Joao Moutinho, France Football has learned.
It is no secret that the Principality club aim to offload their highest earning player and former club FC Porto have emerged as favourites for the midfielder’s signature.
After initially pondering a loan move, the Dragons are on the verge of signing the Portugal hotshot on permanent basis seeing as they have all but agreed a transfer fee with Monaco.
Moutinho, who had come through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon, surprised everyone when he signed for rivals Porto in the summer of 2010.
Fast forward five years and the 28-year-old seem ready to return to Estadio do Dragao, having enjoyed two successful seasons with Monaco.
Moutinho went on to make 68 Ligue 1 appearances for the French giants, scoring five goals in the process.
Barca reject Napoli approach for Bartra
Barcelona have informed Napoli that highly rated defender Marc Bartra is not for sale, according to Record.
The Azzurri could see Raul Albiol leave this summer and they were hoping to lure the Spain international to Stadio San Paolo.
Napoli officials believed that Bartra would be tempted by the prospect of regular playing time in Italy having seen first team opportunities fairly limited at Camp Nou.
However, Barcelona have told the Serie A giants that the 24-year-old will not be leaving the club any time soon as they clearly see the centre-back as an important player for the future.
Bartra has shown a great deal of potential since coming through the youth ranks at Camp Nou and has so far amassed 46 La Liga appearances.
The talented footballer is also regular in the Spain national team and has represented La Furia Roja five times.
Sevilla find Vidal replacement
Spanish daily newspaper Marca is reporting that Sevilla will soon complete the signing of Brazilian defender Mariano Ferreira from Bordeaux.
Los Rojiblancos were in the market for a right-sided defender ever since Aleix Vidal sealed a switch to Barcelona and they appear to have found their man.
After failing to lure Mauricio Isla to Stadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, Sevilla have reportedly agreed a deal for Bordeaux’s Mariano.
The transfer should be completed in the coming hours, with los Rojiblancos set to secure another quality player at a reasonable cost.
Mariano Ferreira spent last three and a half years with les Girondins, making a total of 101 Ligue 1 appearances.
The 29-year-old had represented a number of clubs in native Brazil before joining Bordeaux, with Cruzeiro and Fluminense the more notable ones.
