Liverpool have been showing interest in FC Porto defender Abdoulaye Ba, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The Reds have been keeping close tabs on the 22-year-old for a while now, but they finally look ready to make their interest concrete.

According to A Bola, Liverpool could submit a late proposal for the centre-back who is not in the first team plans of new boss Paulo Fonseca.

Nice, Southampton and Aston Villa have been previously linked with a move for Ba, but it would appear as though the Anfield outfit are leading the chase.

The player, who has three years left on his deal at Estadio do Dragao and a €40 million release clause, only made six league appearances for the club since arriving from Academica last summer.

Ba, however, impressed playing for Senegal at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and is still held in high regard by a host of Premiership sides.

Schalke eyeing Adebayor

German daily Bild understands that Schalke are considering a late swoop for Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

With Klaas Jan Huntelaar set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines and Teemu Pukki nearing a switch to Celtic, the Miners are hoping to sign another striker before the summer transfer window closes.

Bild has suggested that Schalke are looking at Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor, but the player’s €8 million yearly wage could prove to be an obstacle to any deal.

The Togolese forward is no longer in the first team plans of Andre Villas-Boas, and he is widely tipped to leave the club in the coming days.

Adebayor has spent last two seasons at White Hart Lane, scoring a total of 22 goals in 58 Premier League appearances.

After impressing in his first season with Spurs, the 29-year-old has lost his place in the starting line-up and he doesn’t seem to have a future in North London.

Galatasaray close on Bruma

Record has learned that Galatasaray have submitted a serious proposal for Sporting Lisbon winger Armindo Bruma.

The 18-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in Europe at the moment and has been linked with a host of high-profile clubs.

According to Record, Galatasaray have moved to the front of the queue for the talented footballer, having submitted a €12 million offer for the player’s services.

And while Sporting Lisbon are prepared to accept the proposal from Turkey, Bruma is still mulling over a five-year deal worth €1.6 million per campaign.

Namely, with his contract set to expire in a year’s time and clubs like Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester City all keen, the winger is ready to take the gamble and wait for bigger sides to register their interest.

Armindo Bruma has scored 1 goal in 13 league matches last term, while notching no less than 5 goals in 4 matches for Portugal at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.
