Porto have finalised the signing of striker Nabil Ghilas from Moreirense on a four-year deal.

The Algeria international scored 13 goals in 30 Portuguese top-flight games last season, but it was not enough to prevent the Guimaraes outfit’s slide into the Segunda Liga.

He will now have the opportunity to test his abilities at the highest level after Porto pipped Benfica to the Portugese title in the dying embers of last season, beating them in the penultimate fixture of the campaign after both clubs had gone the season unbeaten until then.

“It is a very big club, the greatest team in Portugal and one of Europe’s major forces,” he told the club’s official website.

“It was the club that I liked when I came to Portugal.

“My goals are to work hard and play as much as possible. I have come to learn and hopefully be champion this year.

“I know that Porto has many supporters and the club is the heart of many. I am very happy to be here.”

The 23-year-old’s contract at the Estadio Dragao contains a €30 million release clause.

He has scored one goal in two appearances for Algeria.
