The Daily Mail says that Harry Redknapp is ready to fight other Premiership clubs for Republic of Ireland veteran Richard Dunne. Dunne is ready to quit Manchester City in the summer, and his availability has alerted numerous clubs such as Tottenham, Sunderland and Newcastle.
The Manchester City captain has won thier ‘Player of the Year’ award for the last 3 consecutive seasons, however Dunne is reportedly unhappy with the turmoil at Eastlands, and may even be sold to fund the transfer for big name signings such as Andrei Arshavin or Jo.
Sunderland were initially believed to be in the lead for the player, with team mate Stephen Ireland rumoured to be believed to join the ‘Black Cats’ in a double deal.
Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra looks set to replace a large majority of the Sky Blues squad, including manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, and many clubs look set to cash in on the turmoil, with Dunne believed to leave Eastlands for around £5 million.
