(GSM) – Porto continue to dominate the Portuguese league, as the leaders added yet another victory away to Academica on Saturday.

The only goal of the match, played in the city of Coimbra, came in the final minutes of the first half as Silvestre Varela directed the ball past Academica keeper Romuald Peiser.

Porto are seven points ahead of Benfica, their nearest rivals in the league ranking.

Sporting Braga weren’t as successful, suffering a 2-0 defeat at Rio Ave. Ze Gomez (72nd) and Joao Tomas (82nd) provided the goals.
