Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson believes that it will not be easy for his side to survive the first knockout stage of the Champions League.

Milan finished second in Group C to book their ticket for the round of 16, and the Netherlands winger realises that a tough opponent undoubtedly awaits in the next round.

“We know it is going to be difficult as we are going to face a team which finished first in their group so it will be tough,” Emanuelson was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.

“We just need to see who we get and then try to give everything to come out as victors. It is hard to see who are the best team at the moment. I think it is really close.

“It will certainly be a difficult game for us, we just have to wait and see.”

The draw for the round of 16 takes place on December 20 in Nyon. Teams that Milan may be drawn against include Manchester United, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Paris Saint-Germain.
