Best Odds: 1/2

Arsenal will be hoping to use the FA Cup triumph over Manchester City as a major lift ahead of the season finale, but the Gunners are aware they will be in problems unless they can continue winning. The Foxes need few more points to secure Premier League survival and the eventual win at the Emirates would see them reach the magical 40-point mark.

Arsenal

This is proving to be yet another disappointing season for Arsenal, who have again failed to mount a serious title challenge in English Premier League, while crashing out in the first knockout stage in Europe. What is more, the Gunners face an uphill task in an attempt to secure a top 4 finish, seeing that they trail fourth-placed Man City seven points, albeit having a game in hand. With Man Utd and Everton also in front of them in the overall standings, Arsenal will be under a great deal of pressure in their final seven fixtures of the campaign. The Gunners did manage to qualify for the third FA Cup final in four years, setting up a clash against local rivals Chelsea. The North London outfit came from a goal behind to win the game in extra time, as Arsene Wenger’s 3-4-2-1 formation produced a good result. In spite of back to back wins over Middlesbrough and Manchester City, the Gunners are clearly not on top of their game at the moment, and we can see them experiencing some problems against Leicester City.

Team News

Shkodran Mustafi and Jeff Reine Adelaide continue to miss out through thigh and ankle injury respectively, whereas Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lucas Perez and David Ospina are injury doubts.

Leicester City

Leicester City have enjoyed two incredibly eventful years that saw them narrowly escape relegation, win a historic Premier League trophy, play in Champions League quarter-finals and again be in danger of dropping to the Championship. The most important thing is that the Foxes managed to escape the relegation zone following the arrival of Craig Shakespeare, and while they are not safe just yet, a six-point advantage over the bottom three with two games in hand should give them more than enough opportunities to reach the 40-point mark. The Foxes were not in action at the weekend, meaning they had more than enough time to regroup after the Champions League exit and attempt to end a four-match winless run. After winning his first six games upon arriving at the King Power Stadium, Craig Shakespeare has failed to win any of next four, although we have to be fair and note that three of those were away fixture and one was home game vs mighty Atletico Madrid, where they did pretty well, so the Foxes will definitely try and build on that performance.

Team News

Important players Wes Morgan and Islam Slimani remain in the treatment room, but there are no other worries for Craig Shakespeare.

Key Factors to Consider

  • Arsenal are unbeaten in last 17 meetings with Leicester City
  • The Gunners won 10 of those matches (D7)
  • Both teams scored in 7 of their last 8 meetings
  • Leicester City are winless in last four (D2 L2)
  • Arsenal are averaging two goals per game in last six at home (W4 D1 L1)

Conclusion

Both teams will be buoyed by very good performances in their previous fixtures and we definitely expect to see an open game. With seven of their last eight matches seeing both sides get on the scoresheet, we expect the trend to continue.

Verdict: Both teams to score

Best Odds: 1/2
