Wolves manager Mick McCarthy could pull a major surprise against West Brom on Sunday.
Emmanuel Frimpong’s absence through injury could open the door for McCarthy to play three strikers in the Midlands derby.
The Wolves boss did that in the second half at QPR, which Wolves won 2-1.
Now striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake believes McCarthy could start with himself, Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher up front against Roy Hodgson’s men.
“I don’t see why we couldn’t play that way again,” Ebanks-Blake told the Wolverhampton Express and Star.
“Getting the three of us on the pitch for the second half worked well. We all switched and changed positions like we have in training before and on the day it worked.”
“We had a lot of shots on goal and looked to cause some havoc.”
Wolves will again be without Michael Kightly, who has a back injury.
“Everyone is hungry to play, wherever it may be, which you can see from the boys who are involved and then those coming off the bench and waiting for a chance,” Ebanks-Blake said.
“I think that’s the main bonus for the manager – we all want to play and anywhere it is we want to get in and help the team as much as we can.”
West Brom striker Shane Long and Scottish midfielder Graham Dorrans are both doubtful for the match.
Long has been struggling with chest pains and discomfort for a week while Dorrans is making slow progress with a hip problem.
Hodgson is unsure whether Long and Dorrans will be fit in time.
“Shane seems to be making big strides forward,” Hodgson said.
“He feels a lot better but he’s had two quite serious knockbacks so we have to unfortunately take it a little bit easier with him.”
“We can’t throw him straight back in there because first it was the back and second it was chest pains.”
“We were hoping it would clear up earlier but it hasn’t and we just have to take it day by day.”
“But he’s making a lot of progress and he’s a lot better than he was at the end of last week, it’s just a gradual thing.”
