Premier League sides battle for Rangers hotshot

Everton are Burnley are believed to be among sides showing interest in Rangers midfielder Lewis Macleod, the Daily Mail can reveal.

The two clubs have been keeping close tabs on the 20-year-old this season and they seem ready to try and lure the youngster to England in January.

Macleod has a contract until June 2017 at Ibrox, but with the Scottish giants in difficult financial situation, Rangers would be powerless to resist any big money offer.

The highly rated central midfielder, who can also operate on the left, has come through the youth ranks at Ibrox, and already made 52 league appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.

He has been in excellent form this season, starting 13 Scottish Championship matches, scoring three goals and producing four assists.

Rangers host Kilmarnock in the Scottish FA Cup fourth round next weekend and Gers can be backed at 8/11 to emerge victorious.
