French giants Paris Saint-Germain are readying a new assault on Lyon midfielder Rachid Ghezzal, Le 10 Sport has suggested.
It is no secret that the Saints are keen on the 24-year-old footballer and they attempted to recruit him during the summer transfer window.
At the same time, Everton agreed a €10 million deal with Lyon, but the player ultimately rejected a move to Goodison Park as he wanted to continue playing European football.
With Ghezzal’s current deal due to expire in June 2017, Paris Saint-Germain hope they will be able to recruit the talented footballer on a free transfer next summer, with les Gones obviously looking to avoid such a scenario.
Lyon officials have resumed talks over a contract extension with the midfielder’s representatives, but it remains to be seen whether they can persuade the Algerian to pledge his future to his boyhood club, with the player having been born in the same neighbourhood where new stadium is located.
