PSG join chase for Witsel

Paris Saint-Germain are hot on the trail of Zenit star Axel Witsel, French media outlet Le 10 Sport has revealed.

The Saints have so far offloaded Yohan Cabaye and could also see Thiago Motta leave, so they are keen on recruiting one or two central midfielders.

According to Le 10 Sport, the French giants are hoping to bring Axel Witsel to Parc des Princes in the summer transfer window.

PSG have yet to submit official proposal, but they have informed Zenit of their plans and were in turn told it would take at least €30 million to recruit the Belgium hotshot.

Juventus were the first high-profile side to express interest in Witsel, while AC Milan were very close to reaching an agreement for his transfer a couple of weeks ago.

However, the 26-year-old is still a Zenit player, although he is clearly looking for a new challenge after spending last three years in Russia.
