Paris Saint-Germain attacker Marco Verratti has made it clear the Ligue 1 giants want to become the best team in the world.
PSG have heavily invested in their squad in the past two seasons as players such as Javier Pastore, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva have been brought to Paris.
Verratti has outlined how ambitious he and his team-mates are as they aim to become the world’s best.
“Our aim is to become the best team in the world. It’s a big project that any player would love to be part of,” he told the Ligue 1 website.
“We have to follow Carlo Ancelotti’s instructions and if we do that, we can go a long way.
“Every player that plays against you is desperate to play well.
“So if we go out on to the pitch in the right frame of mind, if we play with the required intensity, it’ll be easier for us to win the games.
“But it’s going to be hard at the start.”
The young playmaker said coach Carlo Ancelotti regularly offered him advice in order to help him improve.
“The coach talks to me a lot. He wants me to accelerate the play as much as possible,” Verratti said.
“He wants us to play at speed so he asks me to release the ball quicker.
“I like the fact he talks to me because his advice will help me to improve my game.”
The 19-year-old midfielder has so far provided two assists in six Ligue 1 appearances.
