PSG win race for Digne

Paris Saint-Germain are set to complete the signing of Lille defender Lucas Digne, L’Equipe has revealed.

The 19-year-old became one of the most sought-after players in France following another impressive season with les Dogues, with a number of top European clubs expressing interest in his services.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain proved to be the most concrete of the interested clubs and are now set to wrap up the deal for the talented footballer having agreed to meet Lille’s €15 million asking price.

Having already passed the medical at Parc des Princes, Digne is set to put pen to paper on a five-year deal worth €3 million per season.

The France Under-21 international arrives at the club as a long-term replacement for experienced defender Maxwell, who has two years left on his deal.

The Saints are, therefore, set to sign one of France’s hottest prospects just one day after splashing €64.5 million on Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani.
