Pulis thrilled with Huth return

Stoke boss Tony Pulis is delighted to have influential defender Robert Huth back at his disposal for Saturday’s clash with Everton.

The 28-year-old has been absent for Stoke’s last three Premier League matches as he served a suspension for violent conduct in his side’s 1-0 loss to Fulham on February 23.

Pulis highlighted the Germany international’s importance to the side ahead of their encounter with the Everton at Goodison Park as they look to break a four-match winless streak.

“He is a fantastic player, and is a hugely influential figure here for us,” the Welshman told the club’s official website.

“He has a fantastic partnership with (fellow central defender) Ryan (Shawcross), and the two of them have been brilliant for us over the last few years.

“It’s great to have him available again because we have missed his presence on the pitch in the last few games.”

Pulis admitted fretting over the fitness of players away on international duty, saying he will face an anxious wait to assess their possible involvement against the Toffees.

“It’s one of those weeks where you find yourself glued to the television, watching and praying that the lads who are away all come through the games unscathed,” he said.

“We had nine or 10 of them away, including two who were playing in Mexico City just 36 hours ago. It is tough and it is hard for them to go away and play and then travel back.

“Geoff (Cameron) and Brek (Shea) have had long trips, as has Kenwyne Jones, who still hasn’t turned up here yet. Hopefully they are all OK.”
