QPR plan shock Adebayor move

Queens Park Rangers are considering an audacious loan bid for out of favour Tottenham Hotspur striker Emanuel Adebayor, the Mirror understands.

Spurs boss Andre Villas Boas has told the Togo international that he can join a second-tier team after the club signed fellow forwards Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado during the summer transfer window.

Harry Redknapp signed Adebayor whilst he was in charge at White Hart Lane, and would relish the chance to be reunited with him at Loftus Road, though he admits securing a deal would be difficult.

He has already taken defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto and midfielder Tom Carroll from the North London club on temporary deals, and is keen to strengthen his squad furthermore as he looks to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

QPR currently sit second in the Championship, joint on points with first place Blackpool ahead of their home match against Birmingham City tomorrow afternoon.
