QPR ready to make move for Fulham defender

Harry Redknapp is looking to lure Fulham captain Brede Hangeland away from one part of West London to another and try to sign him for Queens Park Rangers in the January transfer window, suggests the Daily Express.

Redknapp knows just what a tough job he has at Rangers as they are one of the favourites to go down and have won just once in the English Premier League this season.

He now wants to tighten up the defence and will turn to Fulham’s captain in order to do that.

The Norway international has been superb for the Cottagers since joining in 2008 from FC Copenhagen, but contract talks between him and the club seem to have stalled over recent weeks.

His current deal expires in the summer and QPR could take advantage of that, offering him a big money contract in the January window.

There is no doubt that Hangeland would be a great addition to QPR, but he might have his sights set a bit higher as the club from Loftus Road could easily be playing English Championship football next season.

It is certainly a story to keep an eye on as this January transfer window draws ever closer.
