Queens Park Rangers have said they will look to deal internally with the controversy surrounding a picture of Julio Cesar in a Chelsea kit.
The Brazilian goalkeeper was snapped wearing the Stamford Bridge club’s kit, alongside members of his family, at countryman David Luiz’s birthday party with the image causing outrage among QPR fans.
In a statement on the struggling Premier League side’s website, Cesar said: “I would like to clarify that last night I attended David Luiz’s fancy dress birthday party and as a joke for my friend, my family and I dressed as him.
“I want to assure everyone that absolutely no offence was intended.”
The image has now been deleted and the club say they will not be making any further comment.
