Quaresma named Serie A´s worst player

Misfiring Inter Milan winger Ricardo Quaresma has been named as Serie A's worst player, taking over the mantle from team-mate Adriano.

The 'Bidone d'Oro' is a joke award given out to a player who's flattered to deceive despite a big reputation and it's name – which means the golden can – is a play on words with the 'Ballon d'Or' which recognises the best player in Europe – won this year by Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Inter Milan may be dominating in Italy on the pitch but it seems that some of their players have been failing to impress.

Brazil forward Adriano won the award the last two years and now his Portugal winger team-mate is the new holder.

Quaresma picked up more than 17 percent of the vote ahead of two previous winners, Atalanta's veteran former Italy striker Christian Vieri and Adriano with 10.21 percent and 9.44 percent respectively.

The award is voted for on a popular radio show called Catersport on Rai's Radio2.

Shows how much they know about real football in Italy. Not Quaresma’s fault that all they do is play defence and play hopeful long balls.

  2. Delirious says:

Totally agree that he sucks. He was only put in because he’s Portuguese.. like we all know who else..

Clearly you doesn’t know what your are talking about! Quaresma has played very very poor, and have been lazy at the same time! Quaresma had so many oppurtunities to show Mourinho and Inter that he was a good signing, but he failed.. He also failed in Barcelona, so maybe he isn’t good enough for the big clubs! At the same time I will asume that you haven’t seen much italian football since you say that they play defensively and with long balls.. Both Roma and Milan wants to play offensive football, it’s their mentality.. And last year when United played the first semifinal leg against Barcelona at Camp Nou, they didn’t wanted to play.. Very defensive and boring by United! So don’t blame the italians with the defensive style because many other clubs play defensive when they have to, just like italian clubs..!
