Quick Report: Bayern Munich 7-1 Sporting Lisbon

For the second time in two weeks, Bayern Munich humiliated Sporting Lisbon in a Champions League encounter. In Germany, the Bavarians won 7-1.

Ahead of the match, it was clear that Bayern would be using the opportunity to show their skills without pressure, as te Germans won the first leg 0-5.

Lukas Podolski scored the opener at the Allianz-Arena, lobbing Rui Patricio on seven minutes. The forward added another in the 34th, as his overhead kick sailed into the net for 2-0.

An own goal from Sporting’s Polga set the score to 3-0 in the 39th minute, although Joao Moutinho at least managed to do something back a few minutes later, 3-1.

However, Bastian Schweinsteiger then only needed one minute to restore the original gap, converting a Lell assist for 4-1.

Mark van Bommel and Miroslav Klose (penalty) set the score to 6-1 in the second half, followed by a late goal from youngster Thomas Müller in his Champions League debut. Final aggregate score: 12-1.
