Bolton Wanderers have practically avoided relegation, having beaten Sunderland 2-0 on Saturday.
The first goal at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium was scored by El Hadji Diouf after 42 minutes, and a Murphy own goal secured three points at eight minutes from full time.
Ahead of the last round of matches, Bolton have three points more than Fulham and Reading, 17th and 18th respectively, and a better goal record.
