(GSM) – A late flurry by Eintracht Frankfurt busted their three-match losing skid in a stunning 2-1 victory over Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
Bayern – who came into the day with a two-point lead in the German league – took the lead inside seven minutes when Miroslav Klose took a pass from Mark van Bommel before slotting home for a 1-0 lead.
Bayern held that advantage for the rest of the game, but failed to add to the lead. That gave Frankfurt the impetus to make a late charge at the Bavarians.
Juvhel Tsoumou pulled Frankfurt level in the 87th minute when he intercepted David Alaba’s backpass to Hans-Jörg Butt.
Then, two minutes later, Martin Fenin stunned the visitors with the winning goal after taking a pass from Halil Altintop.
The loss is Bayern’s first in the Bundesliga since 26 September, and it opens the door for Schalke to go top of the league on Sunday.
