Greece and Italy held each other to a 1-1 draw in an international friendly on Wednesday.

Euro 2004 champions Greece even took the lead through Gekas in the 50th minute, but Bayern Munich’s in form striker Luca Toni headed home four minutes later for 1-1.

Tonight’s match was only the fourth meeting between these two sides. The most recent clash was 27 years ago, with a 1-1 draw as result as well.

So far, Greece have never defeated the Azzurri.
