Liverpool beat Manchester City 1-0 at Anfield Road, only days after getting knocked out in the Champions League.
Although not much was at stake in today’s Premiership game, a good result did matter a lot to Liverpool after their elimination from Europe’s top club tournament.
The only goal of the match came from Spanish striker Fernando Torres, with 57 minutes played.
Liverpool had already secured their fourth place, while third-placed Arsenal are out of reach. Manchester City are in a save ninth position, with a small chance of finishing eighth.
