Lionel Messi scored two late goals to turn things around for Barcelona, while Sporting were the stronger side versus FC Basel.

Sporting Lisbon overcame their opening match defeat with a 2-0 win over FC Basel.

Romagnolli put the Portuguese hosts in the lead after 55 minutes and Derlei doubled the advantage just before the end of regular time.

Barcelona lead with six points from two games, followed by Shakhtar and Sporting with three points each. Basel are still without points.
